"First Light on Illumination Rock" is a breathtaking masterpiece, capturing the essence of the Pacific Northwest in its raw beauty. As the sun rises over the Mount Hood National Forest, I, Ajit Suraj, hiked up the challenging Mirror Lake Trail, braving the early morning chill and snowshoeing up a steep incline. The reward was a breathtaking view from the summit of Illumination Rock, with the Timberline Lodge, including the iconic Storman Norman and Palmer lifts, also the historic Silcox Hut, serving as a stunning backdrop. The sight of the first light hitting the summit of Illumination Rock, causing the snow to dance and sparkle, is a moment I will never forget.
